Agrismart’s partner Scawfell Genetics will be attending this years Beef Expo tomorrow, Thursday the 23rd of May at the North West Auctions in Kendal.
Scawfell Genetics will be promoting their collaboration with SellMyLivestock’s new beef genetics launch to compliment their existing dairy genetics. The launch is this Thursday inline with the Beef Expo 2019.
SellMyLivestock recently launched dairy genetics and will from tomorrow include beef genetics to their online offering. This will be an opportunity for farmers to have complete transparency on all available UK genetics in one place.
All the leading genetics companies will have their available genetics side by side allowing farmers to have access to the entire UK genetics market for easy comparison.
Cattle farmers will also be able to market their own semen from their bulls by listing them on the site alongside genetics companies offering an extensive national and international market.
The site provides the ability to search and filter the available genetics by:
- Genetic Index scores such as calving ease, milk production, fat percentage, lifespan and fertility
- Dairy Sires or Beef Sires
- Bull name
- Genetics supplier
- Profitable lifetime index (PLI)
This is a game changer for the UK genetics industry and livestock farmers alike.
Scawfell Genetics Ltd are excited about the opportunity to be involved from launch and will provide semen collection, semen processing, semen storage and distribution for genetics companies and breeders using the online genetics platform and also offer on-farm collection.
Scawfell Genetics has a custom built state of the art facility in Cumbria including their newly built and developed first in the UK bovine semen processing lab. Both the semen store and processing lab have domestic and export licences.
The processing lab has been developed with the most modern, technologically advanced and efficient laboratory equipment currently available.
